About 4 years ago, AJ and I traveled down to Charleston for the first time. While we were there, we had portraits done with Gio. She is such a wonderful lady and makes everyone laugh. It was honestly one of the best days of our trip! Just recently, Gio reached out to me and asked if I’d photograph her and her husband, Matt. I was thrilled! Their Downtown Charleston anniversary portraits were a joy to capture. Gio and Matt are so much fun and kept me laughing the whole time!! 

Downtown Charleston Anniversary Portraits

Gio and Matt met me in Downtown Charleston for their anniversary session. It was amazing to see them both again, in the place we met for the first time! While you literally cannot go wrong with choosing anywhere in Charleston for photos, we decided to do some of the session near The Mills House! This gorgeous pink house is perfect for portraits. It’s a lovely light backdrop – and so well known!! I love how all of those images came out. Gio and Matt are so natural together and I love how in love they still are. That’s what marriage is all about!

During their session, I actually brought my 35mm along and shot some of it on film. It was really fun to play with film again and Gio and Matt were great subjects for me. I’m all about stretching myself as an artist and pushing myself to improve my work every time I get behind the camera.
