Dray and Lauren are ENGAGED! I had the absolute joy of working with Dray to plan a surprise Albemarle proposal on the lake for Lauren. He wanted to propose at the family’s cabin in Albemarle, NC this summer. Dray reached out to me a few months back to start planning. We had a blast working out all of the little nitty gritty details of his dream proposal. His lakeside proposal came as a total surprise to Lauren and it was well worth all of the stress of getting each detail right!

Before Dray and Lauren arrived, I had to hide out in the family’s cabin. Once they began walking down to the lake, I quietly snuck out of the side door so I could capture the big moment. I was definitely worried they’d hear me but it all worked out perfectly!! Dray dropped to one knee and Lauren obviously said yes! It was super exciting to be there knowing this special moment would be documented forever for them!! I LOVE capturing proposals!

After I came out of hiding, I was able to walk around the lake with Dray and Lauren for a little bit. We captured some beautiful portraits of them together. I think that’s one of my favorite parts of capturing proposals. I love creating new portraits of my couples together in the moments following their engagement. Dray and Lauren met at UNC Chapel Hill and have been together for years, so I know this moment was extra special for them both.
