I had a blast with Brian and Dana during their uptown Charlotte engagement session! We spent time at some of my favorite spots in the area, including the Mint Museum, the Green, and the Charlotte Convention Center! It was the perfect session full of local landmarks and the bright personalities of Brian and Dana! These two complement each other so well! I truly couldn’t have imagined a better evening than spending time with Brian and Dana and learning more about their down to earth personalities!

Their Love Story 

Brian and Dana met on a dating app while Dana was traveling for work in Charlotte from Cleveland OH. Their first date was actually at a brewery in South End, called the Wooden Robot. They had the best time and realized they had something special together. 

Brian proposed to Dana while playing a favorite card game, Golf. Brian had just bought a new deck of playing cards, and Dana was complaining that they were hard to shuffle. After a couple rounds, Brian suggested that they double-check that the new deck wasn’t missing any cards. After sorting the cards, Dana realized that the Queen of Hearts was missing. Brian went to his office to “check the box.” When he came back, he handed Dana the box with a card he made that said “Will You Marry Me?” Brian had made the card using Dana’s Cricut that he taught himself how to use while Dana was out of town for work. A week later, Brian made a dinner reservation to celebrate their engagement. When Brian and Dana returned home after dinner, Dana walked in the door and was greeted by a surprise party from family and friends who all traveled to celebrate their engagement. It’s so special and I love how much effort Brian put into the proposal for Dana! 

Uptown Charlotte Engagement Session 

Brian and Dana wanted to capture some of what they love about Uptown Charlotte. So, for their engagement session, we hit some of the big landmarks in the area. I love photographing my couples around here – especially at the Mint Museum and on the Green. Dana wore the most beautiful white dress and it looked so perfect with Brian’s suit. I love that they leaned into a really classy vibe for their session. We ended Brian and Dana’s session on the Green with more casual outfits and it was just lovely as the sun set!! 

Groom: What is your favorite quality about your bride?

Her interest and engagement in conversations, as well as support for anything I encounter at work, on a personal project, etc. Her similar attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to do what’s right.

Bride: What is your favorite quality about your groom?

My favorite quality about Brian is his thoughtfulness. He is always thinking about how he can help others. I also really love his sense of humor and how we can goof around and not take ourselves too seriously.
