Spring engagement portrait session is in full swing! I absolutely love this time of year for portraits. Flowers are blooming, we get so many pretty colors in nature, and the weather is simply perfect. I also LOVE the outfits that my couples tend to wear to spring engagement sessions. Tips for Choosing Your Dream Outfit for Photos

Before you dive into the list, there’s a few other tips I want to share. I always encourage my clients to stick to neutrals, pastels, or colors they know look amazing on them – no matter the season. During the spring, I love the idea of subtle patterns or floral dresses, but it’s always about what you like and feel good wearing! It’s nice to think about your location, too, and how the colors or outfits might look in the space you’ve chosen. 

One other thought about colors… many brides like to wear white or off-white dresses since these are their engagement session photos! I always love that idea because it’s another easy reminder that you’re getting married! But if color is more your style, please go for it! These are your photos to love and treasure for years to come. 

2023 Trends for Dresses

This year, you might notice the list has a lot of dresses with puff sleeves and midi lengths. They’re super in right now and look great on so many women! I love the look, too. It’s elegant and classy without being overpowering. One other tip: consider purchasing a dress that will flow and move. Movement helps to improve your images and provides another layer of dimension for sure!
