Mint Museum Uptown Wedding Day | Clarissa + Nathan

Weddings

April 26, 2022

Congratulations to Clarissa and Nathan! They tied the knot in a gorgeous Jewish ceremony and celebrated the night away at the Mint Museum Uptown this winter. I loved all of the special elements that Clarissa and Nathan had throughout their day. It was my second Jewish wedding day – and I can’t wait for you to see it all!

Emotional First Look

Clarissa and Nathan decided early on that they wanted to have a first look on their wedding day. I was all about it! First looks are great for timelines and to make sure that we have lots of time for portraits on your wedding day. Clarissa surprised Nathan with a fake first look featuring one of his childhood friends at the time they were supposed to meet. It was hilarious and brought everyone lots of laughs! Afterwards, Clarissa came to meet Nathan. It was SO sweet. The weather was cold and windy, so we didn’t stay outside long, but we captured plenty of portraits of the (almost) new Mr. and Mrs.!

Jewish Wedding Ceremony

Before the ceremony, Clarissa and Nathan signed their Ketubah. It was signed in front of their families and closest friends. One of my favorite parts of the day was when everyone present spoke a word of blessing over the couple. I chose “humor” because I hope that they’ll share lots of laughs over the years. In Jewish ceremonies, couples are married under a canopy or Chuppah. Clarissa and Nathan’s Chuppah was in front of a gorgeous art installation – it was beautiful and so unique! I’ll remember that view forever. They were blessed in both Hebrew and English throughout their ceremony, too. I seriously will remember this ceremony forever.

Mint Museum Uptown Wedding Reception

After their gorgeous ceremony, we headed to the Mint Museum Uptown for their reception. What a night! Clarissa, Nathan, and their guests really know how to dance and party. Since Clarissa’s dad passed away a few years ago, they chose to honor him with a memory table. She also did a choreographed dance with her mom and brother – it was a blast, and a great way to take a sad moment and bring some happiness to it. Before the dance floor was opened, everyone helped with the Hora. I loved the shots of I got of Clarissa and Nathan during that, too. After a long evening of dancing together thanks to the incredible band they hired, Clarissa and Nathan left in a pedi-cab following a fun glowstick exit. What a perfect way to end their day!

Congratulations again, Clarissa and Nathan! I’m so happy for you both and I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter.
