December 22, 2020
I can’t believe it’s time to look back on 2020. Some days it felt like 2020 would never end. And other days, it felt like the year was slipping away from us. But, despite it all, I’m grateful for all of the lessons and inspiration 2020 has brought us. Today, I thought it would be fun to look back at some beautiful 2020 wedding inspiration in the Charlotte area. It hasn’t been a great year for brides and grooms everywhere, but they’ve all made the best of it. And, honestly, as their wedding photographer and friend, I’ve been beyond impressed. I’m so thankful for each of my clients. They’ve made this year better than I could have hoped and they brought me love on the days I couldn’t imagine finding any.
2020 Wedding Inspiration
Due to all of the restrictions around COVID-19, my typical wedding season didn’t exist. For a few months, I didn’t shoot a wedding – and that would have been my busiest season. But, instead of canceling their days or pushing to 2021 (or 2022!) most of my clients chose to follow restrictions and downsize their wedding day instead. I’m so grateful to them for that. They helped save my little business in the height of the pandemic. My couples got creative and found new ways to celebrate their love stories. They shortened guest lists, put socially distanced boxes on dance floors, and encouraged mask wearing. They moved to backyards or intimate elopements instead of large parties. And I’m so in awe of all of the decisions they made.
Despite the hardships of 2020, I still captured SO many beautiful Charlotte love stories. And at some of my favorite venues too, like Separk Mansion and the Farm at Brusharbor. I photographed my couples starting the next chapter of their lives, and I know they will have beautiful stories to tell from these days. Thank you again, to all of my KDP couples for making 2020 a year of love, despite everything. This one’s for you.
