The Farmstead Wedding
Blair and Zach’s Farmstead wedding day was definitely one for the books. Besides having their wedding in the middle of a pandemic, there were a lot of very memorable moments from their day! Plus the Farmstead in Mt. Pleasant, NC was a beautiful venue choice for the summer! This is a wedding that I will not easily forget!
Bridal Accessory Details
We started the day with Blair’s beautiful simple details. I absolutely love dainty jewelry, and her beaded headband and her mom’s pearl earrings were the perfect accessories. Her bouquet by Poppies Floral was also the perfect combination of roses, ranunculus, and eucalyptus! All of my favorites!
Groomsmen Portraits
While the girls touched up hair and make up, we went over to the guys’ getting ready space and made sure they were ready to go! Zach and all his groomsmen sported their navy suits and light blue ties perfectly!
We took the guys outside briefly – it was hot!!! We got lots of fun photos of Zach and all his groomsmen together. This was a fun bunch! It’s always a treat for us photographers to have a group of groomsmen that listens to us but also makes us laugh! Haha!
Bridal Portraits
Next it was time to get the ladies ready. We hid Blair’s bridesmaids away in a separate room while Blair‘s mom helped her into her dress. We especially loved the detail of the lace and tiny polka-dot pattern on Blair’s dress. The area by the window proved to be a perfect spot for portraits too, so we made sure to take some bridal portraits before we headed outside into the heat!
First Looks
I love doing bridesmaids first looks, so we made sure to do that before diving into all of the photos of Blair and her bridesmaids together! I could tell just from hanging out with them for a little while that Blair’s circle of friends is so loving and close knit!
Blair also shared an emotional first look with her dad and a very sweet first look with Zach. I always love the anticipation right before the first look! It’s always one of the best moments to see the groom turn around and smile at his bride! Blair and Zach shared a special prayer together before joining their bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Wedding Party Portraits
We had so much fun with the entire wedding party too! They were such a good looking group. I loved the color palette with the mix of navy and light blue! It was perfect for a summer wedding. On Blair and Zach’s wedding day, we were actually ahead of schedule the entire time, which is hilarious because that almost never happens! We had lots of extra time for some beautiful bride and groom portraits before the ceremony ever started.
The Farmstead Wedding Ceremony
During the ceremony Blair and Zach‘s officiant did a wonderful job speaking about how Blair and Zach are so different in personality, yet balance each other out so well. It was such an inspiring message to hear. They even had some special music and a prayer directed by one of their groomsmen during the ceremony, and they left as Mr. and Mrs. Hunn!
A Coronavirus Wedding
After the ceremony, they spent some special time with guests that were not able to attend the reception. Then, as they were announced into the reception they went straight into their first dance.
I love their first dance song choice! It was “Be Without You” by Dave Barnes… I think this is a new favorite for me! Blair shared a dance with her dad and Zach shared a dance with his mom, but the fun wasn’t over yet!
A Surprise from the Groom
Zach had a little surprise up his sleeve. He whipped out a silver sequin suit jacket and a pair of dark sunglasses. None of us knew this was coming! He lip-sync serenaded his new bride to R. Kelly’s “When a Woman Loves.” There were so many laughs and it was truly unforgettable! None of us knew what an amazing performer Zach is!!!
The Farmstead Wedding Reception
After a delicious dinner by Dough Girls Catering, it was time for a few speeches. The maid of honor, Heather, gave a heartfelt speech about her friendship with Blair.
Zach’s brother then gave one of the greatest best man speeches I have ever heard! Four years ago, he began a document called “Marriage to Zach.” He wrote it specifically for the woman who would show up in Zach’s life in the future. He handed over this document to Blair and I couldn’t believe it was four years in the works! Apparently, one of the best sections in the handbook is about Zach’s facial hair cycle and his love of his mustache – which he shaved off when he met Blair, by the way! Too funny!
After the speeches and a fun cake cutting, there was mingling among the guests and even some dancing outside! The party was provided by Virtual Sounds and they did an amazing job! Blair and Zach gave out chocolate chip cookies from their favorite place in Louisville, Kentucky as favors and exited with a fun sparkler exit! At the end of the sidewalk, Zach’s brother was waiting to hand him a flare gun. He shot the flare and I don’t think anyone was expecting that! It was Blair’s “official” welcome into the family!
Congratulations Blair and Zach! You two are truly some of the most kind hearted and fun loving people I have met. I’m so glad I got to be a part of your day!!!
