Emma and Coco’s French-inspired wedding at the luxurious Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh, NC was beautiful and truly unforgettable. I’ve known Emma forever as we grew up dancing together, and over the years I’ve had the honor of photographing her sister Erin’s wedding, as well as many family sessions too. Needless to say, being a part of Emma and Coco’s wedding day meant the world to me, and celebrating such a meaningful milestone with their family felt incredibly special.
A French-Inspired Wedding at The Merrimon-Wynne House in Raleigh, NC
Emma and Coco live in France (and Coco is French!), so their wedding day was filled with beautiful French touches and traditions woven throughout the celebration. Their Merrimon-Wynne House wedding was an absolute dream, especially since Emma and Coco are incredibly laid back and such a joy to work with. Even though it was a very hot summer day, you would never know it from the photos! They were such troopers in the heat.
With loved ones traveling from both the United States and France, Emma and Coco wanted to make sure their guests had the best experience. It was clear from the start that friends and family were their top priority. I even got to brush up on my French throughout the day, although I was definitely a little rusty!
Merrimon-Wynne House: Luxury Raleigh Wedding Venue
Their outdoor wedding ceremony took place on the lawn under the southern pecan trees, and it was a picturesque setting. Merrimon-Wynne is a top venue choice for couples wanting a romantic, luxury venue in downtown Raleigh. The venue features a fully restored building and sweeping grounds providing endless spots for beautiful wedding portraits. Inside, the open, light and airy space features large windows allowing all the natural light to flood in.
Romantic Wedding Florals and Elegant Details
The florals were one of the standout details of the day. Emma’s bridal bouquet featured elegant, soft blooms in white and dusty pink, with taller blue flowers adding a touch of whimsy and movement. At the reception, light pink roses, blue florals, and lush greenery filled small vases that ran down the center of each table, creating a romantic and refined tablescape.
One of my favorite personal touches was their creative “table captain” idea. Each table had one guest designated as the table captain, and waiting for them at their seat was a beret along with a note greeting them with a cheerful “Bonjour!” and then detailing their mission of taking group photos of their table throughout the night. It was such a fun, interactive way to incorporate French flair while also capturing candid memories from their guests’ perspective.
Downtown Raleigh Wedding Celebration
After a night overflowing with joy, laughter, and love, Emma and Coco ended their Merrimon-Wynne House wedding with a sparkler send-off. It was the perfect ending to a perfect wedding day.
Emma and Coco, it was truly an honor to capture your gorgeous wedding day and preserve these memories for you and your families. I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness. Congratulations again on your beautiful Merrimon-Wynne House wedding!
