Wedding Reception at Terrace at Cedar Hill

Congratulations, Grace and John! Being a North Carolina wedding photographer has given me a front row seat to so many incredible moments for couples around the state. It makes days like Grace and John’s mean that much more to me because I’ve known Grace since we were young. She and I attended the same church growing up, so it was like being with family throughout their wedding celebration. Each one of my couples is so special to me and I love when I have the chance to capture a wedding day for someone I know well, like this! Grace and John actually held their wedding in Mexico this May, so they chose to have a reception style celebration for local family and friends in June!

Uptown Charlotte Wedding Portraits

Since Grace and John were not having a ceremony, we got to kickstart their wedding day with their portraits. Uptown Charlotte was the perfect location for their wedding photos. We started at Midtown Park and worked our way around the area, including a visit to La Belle Helene. La Belle Helene is a local French restaurant and since Grace and John were engaged in Paris, we thought it was a nice nod to the start of this chapter of their lives together! It was fun getting to spend time with Grace and John, exploring a city we all love so very much.

Wedding Reception at Terrace at Cedar Hill

After their portraits, Grace and John headed back to Terrace at Cedar Hill to meet their guests and party! This gorgeous venue in Uptown Charlotte is quickly becoming a favorite spot of mine! The venue was once a bakery, so it’s got the most gorgeous brick structure that is now paired with incredible windows. Not only a photographer’s dream for all of the natural light, but the building has the best views of our beautiful city. With an all-weather patio on the top level, it provides the perfect panoramic backdrop for wedding portraits all day long! Grace and John brought their own touch to this modern space with light blue and white accents, with watercolor signs welcoming their guests. The night was full of lots of dances and plenty of laughs celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. in a truly beautiful space!
