I just love Emily and DJ! A few years ago, I captured their anniversary session, so I was thrilled when they reached out about more portraits together. This time, they wanted Downtown Mooresville portraits, and I couldn’t wait since I haven’t done a lot of exploring in this area. Now, after capturing their session there, I’ll definitely be back!!

Downtown Mooresville Portraits

Emily and DJ live in Troutman, NC which isn’t too far from Mooresville, so they were excited to help me explore the downtown area during their photos. It’s a cute little town, full of small businesses and gorgeous old buildings. It was a dream, seriously, to photograph them here. Especially at sunset! We started their session outside On Tap, their favorite hangout in the area. The owner was happy we were there, too! He tried to photo bomb Emily and DJ before letting us come inside for a few minutes. Afterwards, we continued wandering through town and finding spots with perfect light for DJ to twirl Emily or for them to snuggle up for a minute.

I love portraits with couples who have been married for a few years. There’s just a sense of familiarity and connection that only comes with being someone for a period of time. Emily and DJ are still very much in love and it’s evident in every look they give each other and smile they share. I’m so honored to have been able to capture their love a few times now. And I continue to wish them nothing but happiness in their marriage for years to come! Thank you for sharing Downtown Mooresville with me, Emily and DJ! I hope I’ll see you again soon.
