Lake James Bridal Shoot
Julia is one of my most fun and adventurous brides! When she told me she wanted to have her bridal portraits done on Lake James, I was so excited! Nestled in the North Carolina mountains, Lake James is a picturesque spot, perfect for a stunning bridal portrait!
The Wedding Look
Julia’s dress is one of my favorites! I am obsessed with the flowy layers and all of the incredible detail, not to mention the pretty blush and cream undertones! Julia’s hair was just perfect too – all of her loose curls complimented her dress so well! Her bridal bouquet was full of color, and that was no different on her actual wedding day!
Choosing Lake James
Locations: We started our day at Julia’s grandmother’s house right on the edge of Lake James. When you look out the back window, you see a breathtaking view of the mountains and the lake together! I had never been to this area, so I was shocked that I hadn’t even heard of Lake James before! We took some photos near the house, then ventured down the steps to the Lake itself! A beautiful dock awaited us, which was the perfect spot for lakeside bridal portraits. We even got a lovely breeze during some of the photos, which always makes everything better! After we spent some time down at the lake, we added in Julia’s beautiful layered veil with lace detail on the edges. It was the perfect match for her wedding dress!
The Lace Wedding Dress
I think it’s safe to say that I LOVE twirly, flowy bridal dresses, so you’re going to see lots and lots of those photos in Julia’s post!
Scenic Lake Shots
Make sure to scroll to the end of the post to see the breathtaking and colorful lake view, and a sweet photo of Julia with her grandmother too!
The Wedding Day
I can’t wait to share the photos from her wedding day at the Marion Lake Club, which is just as scenic and adventurous as this shoot!
