Christina and Richard’s Wedding
When Christina‘s mom contacted me about possibly photographing her intimate wedding just a few months beforehand, I was so excited. Christina and Richard sounded like such a fun loving couple!!! Separk Mansion is one of my favorite venues, so it was a match made in heaven!
Little did we know that coronavirus was on its way to the US and that curveballs were going to be thrown our way. Luckily it didn’t get too bad before their wedding, and they were still able to have the wedding of their dreams with 50 guests! Honestly, I wish more weddings were this small and intimate because it was the perfect number of people for a fun relaxed gathering.
Getting Ready
When I arrived, the girls were finishing up their hair and make up, and Christina was almost ready to get into her classy beaded wedding dress! One of my favorite parts of their intimate wedding was when one of Christina’s bridesmaids who lives out of state got on FaceTime for Christina’s big reveal! She was not able to travel for the wedding, so she surprised Christina on FaceTime dressed in her bridesmaid dress. Needless to say a lot of tears were shed!!!
One of my other favorite details from the day was the groom and groomsmen’s personalized suit jackets. Each of the groomsmen‘s jackets had personalized lining! Check out the groom’s suit jacket – on the inside has their wedding date embroidered!!!
Christina and Richard decided to do a First Look before their intimate wedding ceremony and I’m so glad they did. It was one of the best parts of the day! I’ve never seen a groom smile so big to see his bride. What an honor to witness something so sweet and special!
The Ceremony
We did lots of really fun bridal party and family photos before the wedding too! Then, it was finally time for their ceremony to begin. Since the wedding was in March, the weather was absolutely perfect for Separk’s beautiful outdoor ceremony site. There were lots of smiles and tears when they shared their personal vows under the arbor!
The Reception
After the ceremony was when the fun really began. We did some more beautiful bride and groom portraits all over the mansion! All of the guests gathered outside for hors d’oeuvres provided by Root’s Catering. After Christina and Richard were announced in to the intimate wedding reception, there were several heartfelt speeches by the best man, the maid of honor, and the bride’s parents!
All of the guests got to enjoy really fun music and dancing in Separk’s Rose Garden and on the beautiful veranda in front of the mansion. We all had some incredible cake provided by Delish Cakery and some cute macaroons for favors – sweets are definitely the way to my heart! Under Separk’s gorgeous market lights, Christina and Richard finally bid farewell to all of their loving supportive guests with an exciting sparkler exit!!!
I am so happy that this sweet and joyful couple was able to enjoy their intimate wedding day despite all of the craziness in the world during the coronavirus pandemic. It was a lovely day in every way!
