Lydia & Michael’s Midtown Atlanta and Historic Oakland Cemetery Engagement Session

For Brides

December 5, 2017

Lydia and Michael brought us to Atlanta for their engagement session! These two sweethearts met in their campus ministry at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Lydia now attends Emory to become a nurse, and Michael is studying engineering!

I was overjoyed to hear that Lydia was engaged a couple of months ago. We actually attended the same dance school growing up, and I hadn’t seen her in so long! What a fun reunion!!!

We explored Winn Park, Ansley Park, and McClatchey Park, all of which were incredibly gorgeous! I feel like you would never know by the first location photos that we were in Atlanta at all! I never knew such beautiful (and QUIET) parks could be found right in the middle of downtown Atlanta!

For our next location, we drove to Historic Oakland Cemetery, which was so unique and beautiful. We even got a little skyline view of the city from one side of the cemetery. There were so many gorgeous trees, all that still had leaves! I couldn’t believe it. December and we still get beautiful leaves?! What a dream.

Lydia and Michael are meant to be together. Anyone would be able to see that just from how much they smile at each other. I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding day at The Farmstead in Concord, NC next August!

From Lydia: “On September 22nd, which was our 1 year anniversary, Michael proposed. He took me on a sentimental walk down memory lane to my favorite ice cream place, then Oakland Cemetery where he told me he loved me, to see the sunset over the Atlanta skyline in Piedmont Park, and then back onto Georgia Tech’s campus to the very bench where he asked me to be his girlfriend. Complete with a set of Jenga with 54 reasons he wanted to marry me, I said “YES!” of course.”

“The Gospel is for everyone, and I hope for our marriage to be a beautiful depiction of Christ’s sacrificial love for all of us. Our love has been fun, adventurous, and sentimental. We love just being together, spending time in coffee shops, hiking, corresponding through letters, and doing the everyday ordinary things together.”
