Timeless Spring Wedding at Separk Mansion | Bailey & Luke

Weddings

July 1, 2025

Congratulations, Bailey and Luke! I had the absolute joy of photographing Bailey and Luke’s April wedding at Separk Mansion. Not only did I get to work at one of my favorite Charlotte venues for their wedding day, but I got to work with one of the most fun and outgoing couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Their wedding day was bursting of joy – and lots of spring flowers – and it was truly a gorgeous celebration.

Spring Wedding Day in Charlotte NC

I’ve known Bailey’s family for years. We attended the same church together as we grew up and I even got to photograph her sister’s wedding several years ago. It meant the world that Bailey and her family welcomed me back for her wedding day this spring. When I get to work with families over and over again like that, it really feels like I’m part of the inner circle! It makes wedding days so much fun and like mini reunions!

Bailey made the most beautiful bride. She had a classic look that reminded me so much of Marilyn Monroe. I’m obsessed with her curls!! Paired with her timeless gown, she chose a spring bouquet that was bursting with pastel colors. Her bridesmaids carried smaller versions of her bouquet which popped just as much against their black gowns. This kind of color palette – black and white with pops of color – is definitely one of my favorite looks on a wedding day. I think it just makes all the decor so much more fun and exciting. Plus, Separk Mansion has so many neutral spaces that the color really does bring everything to life!

Separk Mansion Wedding with Playful Moments

But the fun didn’t stop there! Luke and his groomsmen brought their favorite swords for some of their photos at the mansion and we had a great time incorporating them into the guys’ photos! It was playful and made everyone laugh that morning. Bailey and Luke chose not to do a first look together, but Bailey had a sweet first look with her dad and then one with the groomsmen too before the ceremony. I love that she chose to do those first looks!

Bailey and Luke held their ceremony inside Separk Mansion and we were even able to capture their family photos in the sunroom (yep, the one with the black and white flooring!). It was a perfect way to use a variety of the spaces at the mansion throughout the day. After the ā€œI doā€s, Bailey and Luke came with me for their first portraits as newlyweds. We had a lovely time together while they soaked in that ā€œjust marriedā€ feeling! Then, it was time to party! I have to admit: the party was SO fun! I am loving my recent weddings and how fun the dance floor is at all of them. The new Mr. and Mrs. ended the night driving off in a sleek blue car, waving to their loved ones! It was the perfect end to their gorgeous spring wedding day!

Congratulations again, Bailey and Luke! I’m so happy for you both and I loved being a part of your celebration.
