Congratulations to Kayla and Will! These two are now husband and wife after their timeless wedding in Downtown Kannapolis. It was a beautiful celebration focused on love and their life together – so special and just perfect. Kayla is my DREAM bride and I’m thrilled she asked me to document their wedding day. She’s so sweet and beyond thoughtful. It meant the world to me to be with Kayla and Will for their wedding day. They met years ago, so this celebration was a long time coming – and I know they’re incredibly happy to be married now! 

Downtown Kannapolis NC Wedding Day

Kayla and Will built a wedding day that focused on what matters most to them: their love and their family/friends. It was actually a lot of fun for me because so many of her bridesmaids (and Kayla!), I knew from college. It was like a little mini reunion when I walked into the bridal suite that morning. So fun! The ladies – in their matching silk pajamas – helped Kayla prepare for her first look. She planned one with her dad and it was SO sweet. Afterwards, she and Will had a first touch around one of the columns of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis. During their first touch, they exchanged their own personal vows. It was perfect – and a wonderful way to be together without ruining the big reveal down the aisle! 

The day of Kayla and Will’s wedding was rainy, but the sky cleared for us as we began to go outside for the first look and first touch, and we lucked out with clear skies during their newlywed portraits around downtown, too! The church where their portraits and ceremony took place may look familiar – it’s where we did some of Kayla’s bridal portraits this winter there! I was excited to be back for the day because it’s just such a timeless backdrop for portraits. Nearby, some of the trees were beginning to bloom, so we had the best of both worlds – the classic brick and the elegant blooms. 

I’m so happy for you, Kayla and Will! I love when I watch all of my couples tie the knot – but when I’ve known them for years, like I’ve known Kayla, wedding days become extra special! Congratulations again to the new Mr. and Mrs.!!
