Every once in awhile, you meet someone that you know you’re going to be friends with for a long time. Lily is one of those people. She and I were really close throughout middle school. Afterwards, we lost touch until she hired me to do some dance photos of her a few years back. It was SO good to see her again and when she reached out about me capturing her engagement photos and wedding in 2019, I was so excited to say yes! She and Devin are the cutest and it was so much fun to spend time with them during their 1812 Hitching Post engagement session. Now, I know I said she was married in 2019, but I’ve been going back through my archives and realized I never shared their session. It’s SO sweet and I couldn’t resist a chance to highlight this amazing venue again too.
1812 Hitching Post Engagement Session
Lily and Devin are just adorable together. Together, we explored the grounds at the 1812 Hitching Post – and seriously, what a beautiful venue! I can’t wait to go back. Not only is the historic home itself stunning but the gardens and grounds are wonderful too. It was a perfect spot to get creative and capture Lily and Devin together. Lily chose two beautiful outfits. The green dress she started in gave us lots of movement and portraits with a flowing skirt. I always love the chance to capture portraits like that! And her second outfit was super cute. She looked so happy holding Devin’s hand and strolling on the pathway by the house.
One thing I really loved about looking back through Lily and Devin’s portraits was that as much as I LOVE color photos, a good black and white portrait can go a long way. And for their session, the black and white portraits turned out to be some of my favorites. I hope you enjoy this throwback to Lily and Devin’s cozy 1812 Hitching Post engagement session!
