Classic Farmstead Wedding in Mt. Pleasant, NC – Lydia and Michael

For Brides

September 13, 2018

Ohhh my goodness you guys, this blog post is a GOOD one! Lydia and Michael’s classic Farmstead wedding in Concord, NC was certainly a beautiful day!

How They Met

Lydia and Michael met in their campus ministry at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. They quickly became close friends in 2016 and went on a date. Lydia said, ‘It his heart for the Lord and his desire for making disciples that excited my heart and first and foremost keeps me enchanted by him.’ They dated all through Lydia’s senior year of college and into the beginning of time in nursing school at Emory where she is now!

The Proposal

On their 1 year anniversary, Michael proposed. He took her on a sentimental walk down memory lane to her favorite ice cream place, then Oakland Cemetery, then to see the sunset over the Atlanta skyline in Piedmont Park, and then back onto Georgia Tech’s campus to the very bench where he asked her to be his girlfriend. Complete with a set of Jenga with 54 reasons he wanted to marry her, she said “YES!” of course.

Their Wedding Day

From Lydia: “Above all, I want God to be glorified through our wedding day. This marriage is for the church, and I want to celebrate with the people we love and hold dear. The Gospel is for everyone, and I hope for our marriage to be a beautiful depiction of Christ’s sacrificial love for all of us. Our love has been fun, adventurous, and sentimental. We love just being together, spending time in coffee shops, hiking, corresponding through letters, and doing the everyday ordinary things together. I am excited to spend the rest of my life with Michael and to make memories together forever.”

Reading Lydia’s initial emails had me smiling from ear to ear. This couple is so sweet and truly cares about every single person that was present on their wedding day. It was an honor to be there!

Their wedding day was full of love, from the birthday cake Lydia had for her sister, to the sweetest letters Lydia and Michael exchanged and read separately! (Some of my favorite photos!) They also had the sweetest prayer ever before Lydia walked down the aisle. We were worried about rain ALL day long, but guess what?! We never got a single drop. It was such a blessing!!!

Lydia and Michael’s bubble exit was SO cute, and the best way to end such a perfect day. Congratulations Lydia and Michael!!!
