Alexander Homestead Wedding: Janice and Matt

I’m loving these thorwback blogs. It’s been really fun to go back through my computer and find these beautiful wedding days to share with you! Janice and Matt’s Alexander Homestead wedding is one of my favorite summer wedding days. Now that you’ve seen their maternity session and Janice’s bridal portraits, it’s only fair to share their wedding with you! Their August wedding day was beautiful, even with the rain we had that day because at the end of the day, Janice and Matt still got married. And that’s all that really matters!

Janice and Matt are some of the sweetest and most calm people I’ve ever worked with. Even with all of the rain, they rolled with the punches and wound up having a seriously beautiful wedding regardless of the weather. Their entire day got moved to the inside of Alexander Homestead and it was still beautiful. Shout out to the incredible vendor team and staff there who helped make all of the changes necessary!! It’s one of the reasons I adore this venue in Charlotte, NC. It’s inclusive and so pretty – and they have the best staff!!

Anyway, one of my favorite moments was amidst all of the hustle and bustle to change things up, Janice and Matt had the sweetest first touch before the ceremony. It was everything they needed to stay calm and grounded (and excited) about their ceremony. I love that couples opt to do a first touch so they can still calm their nerves before the wedding without having to settle for a first look! It was just perfect. After their ceremony, we took advantage of a break in the weather for portraits out in the gardens for Janice and Matt. We also captured their family photos outside which was fun. Their families are super important to them, so being able to capture those memories makes me so happy.

Janice and Matt, I hope you love this little throwback to your wedding day! I can’t wait to meet your sweet new baby so soon!!!
