Wedding // Anna & Ezekiel

For Brides

May 31, 2017

Being a wedding photographer is ALWAYS special. But, it is even more special when you are photographing your best friend’s wedding day. I feel so blessed to have been Anna & Ezekiel’s photographer…not only were Anna and I best friends throughout college, we were also roommates for three years! It has been such a pleasure to see Anna & Ezekiel’s relationship grow from dating, to engaged, and now to married! They exchanged vows under a pergola that Ezekiel built, with a beautiful mountain backdrop. We were holding our breath all week because of a high chance of thunderstorms…but not a single drop of rain fell from the sky until after this beautiful day was over. Talk about a blessing. These two are SO incredibly special to me and I feel like crying happy tears just looking back on their wedding day!

Here is a little bit of their story, written by Anna:

“Ezekiel and I technically met when we played coach pitch together in 2nd grade. We attended middle and high school together and Ezekiel invited me to go with him to the Tanglewood Festival of Lights when we were in the 10th grade. He held my hand on the wagon ride, and that was the beginning of our dating relationship. I was convinced that high school relationships never lasted and when he tried to convince me otherwise, I just laughed. But here we are, six and a half years later, married!

We chose to have a more intimate ceremony because we wanted to really enjoy the day instead of feeling overwhelmed. We chose to do everything ourselves because it was more fun, honestly! I loved getting married under the pergola knowing that Ezekiel had built it just for that day and that we had worked on it together. It was simple but exactly what we wanted. We wanted to focus on each other and beginning our marriage with Christ at the center. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day or meaningful ceremony.

I tell Ezekiel this all the time, but I am so grateful to have met him as early as I did and to have spent so much of my life with him. And now we have the rest of forever to continue growing and figuring out life together!”
